Fluidyne Breather Valves, also known as direct acting Pressure Vacuum Relief Valves, are types of Relief Valves designed for tank protection. The range includes:-

All Fluidyne Breather Valves are available with flanged outlets or vented to atmosphere. Pressure/Vacuum Relief Valves are used mainly on bulk storage tanks, including fixed roof tanks with floating covers, to minimize evaporation loss. The Valves prevent the build-up of excessive pressure or vacuum which can unbalance the system or damage the storage vessel. Pressure and Vacuum protection are controlled with weight loaded pallets or springs loaded disc and the required Pressure/Vacuum settings are reached. Sometimes pressure settings require spring loaded disc and the vacuum settings use weight loaded pallet in one device. Fluidyne Breather Valves follow American Petroleum Institute Standard API 2000 or other applicable standard where tanks are generally large volume welded vessels that are built to API 650 standard. In order to accommodate large volumes at low set pressures, these Valves have ports that are larger in area than the inlet or nozzle connection. The low setting required generally require weight loaded disc or pallet and sometimes require spring loaded disc. Because of the above, a Breather Valve requires approximately 20% (minimum) to 100% over set pressure in order to reach full opening of the Valve.

Breather Valves



Breather Valve Type: Standard (Model PV-100)
Fluidyne Standard Breather Valves (Model PV-100) are Dead Weight type having pressure and vacuum pallets. In case of over pressure, the pressure disc opens to release air or vapour to atmosphere and in case of over vacuum the vacuum disc open inward to admit air to neutralize the vacuum in tank.

Breather Valve Type: Spring & Dead Weight (Model PV-110)
Fluidyne Spring & Dead Weight (Model PV-110) are Dead Weight and Spring Type having pressure pallet and vacuum disc. In case of over pressure, the pressure palletalong with vacuum disc opens to release air or vapour to atmosphere and in case of vacuum the vacuum disc open inward into tank to admit air to neutralize the vacuum in tank. Here the Vacuum setting is adjustable.

Breather Valve Type: Tyrus (Model-120)
Fluidyne Spring & Dead Weight (Model PV-120) are Spring loaded type having pressure and vacuum discs. In case of over pressure, the pressure disc opens to release air or vapour to atmosphere and in case of over vacuum the vacuum disc open inward into tank to admit air to neutralize the vacuum. Here the Pressure and Vacuum settings are both adjustable.

Breather Valve Type: In-Line (Model-130)
Fluidyne Spring & Dead Weight (Model PV-130) are In-Line Weight and Spring loaded type having pressure and vacuum discs. In case of over pressure, the pressure disc along with vacuum disc opens to release air or vapour downstream and in case of vacuum the vacuum disc open inward into line to admit air or vapour downstream to neutralize the vacuum. Here the Vacuum setting is adjustable. Valve need to be installed vertically.

Pressure Relief Breather Valve Type: Dead Weight (Model P-100)
Fluidyne Standard Pressure Relief Breather Valve (Model P-100) is Dead Weight type having a pressure pallet. In case of over pressure, the pressure disc opens to release air or vapour to atmosphere. Here Pressure setting cannot be adjusted.

Pressure Relief Breather Valve Type: Spring Loaded (Model P-110)
Fluidyne Pressure Relief Breather Valve Spring Loaded Type (Model P-110) have spring loaded pressure pallet. In case of over pressure, the pressure disc opens to release air or vapour to atmosphere. Here Pressure setting can be adjusted.

Vacuum Relief Breather Valve Type: Standard (Model VB-100)
Fluidyne Standard Vacuum Relief Breather Valve Spring Loaded Type (Model VB-100) have spring loaded vacuum pallet. In case of over vacuum, the vacuum disc opens to allow airin to the tank. Here vacuum setting can be adjusted.

Vacuum Relief Breather Valve Type: In-Line (Model VB-110)
Fluidyne Vacuum Relief Breather Valve Spring Loaded In-Line Type (Model VB-110) have spring loaded vacuum disc. In case of over vacuum, the vacuum disc opens to allow air or vapour into the downstream. This valve can be also installed at end-of-line with end cap or weather hood as shown in the drawing. Here vacuum setting can be adjusted.

Vacuum Breaker Valve Type: Lever (Model VB-120)
Fluidyne Vacuum Relief In-Line Breather Valve Weight Loaded Lever Type (Model VB-120) have weight loaded lever operating the disc. In case of over vacuum, the vacuum disc opens to allow air gas or vapour into downstream side. Here vacuum setting can be adjusted by adjusting the weight position on lever. This valve can be installed both vertically or horizontally.

Vacuum Breaker Valve: Standard Dead Weight (Model VB-130)

FLUIDYNE API 2000 Code EMERGENCY VENTS Model EVV-110 are for storage tanks when exposed to overpressures that are not handled by standard tank vents. These vents provide the capacity to meet API standard 2000 for emergency venting due to fire exposure when properly sized. These covers also provide quick easy access for tank inspection and maintenance and provide pressure relief. When excessive pressure builds within the storage tank the FLUIDYNE series Emergency Pressure Relief Vent begin to open at a predetermined set pressure relieving excessive pressure. When the overpressure has dissipated the cover reseat onto the base. FLUIDYNE emergency vents are available in several materials that are corrosion resistant to most petroleum product applications. The setting range is from a minimum of 25mm W.C to a maximum of 200mm W.C. for direct-weight loaded and 2000mm WC for deadweight-lever type. This model is available with Weight Loaded Lever type for adjustable settings and higher pressure settings.

Fluidyne Model 1210 Breather Valves are developed mainly for blow-down lines or pressurized storage vessels. External atmospheric conditions like temperature and corrosive air determine the material combination for these valves. Higher settings then most dead weight types is achieved by spring loading of pressure pallets. Standard non-metallic seat inserts are made using Neoprene and Teflon material. This range of valves are available using pure aluminum, cast carbon steel, stainless steel and cast iron body with stainless steel or bronze trim. They can also be made from other materials on special order.

Fluidyne Model PV 1220 Breather Valves are developed mainly for lower pressurized storage vessels. External atmospheric conditions like temperature and corrosive air determine the material combination for these valves. Lower settings where dead weight pallet types is used. Standard non-metallic seat inserts are made using Neoprene and Teflon material. This range of breather valves are available using pure aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel or cast iron body with stainless steel or bronze trim. They can also be made from other materials on special order.

Fluidyne Model 1230 Breather Valves are developed mainly for atmospheric low pressure tanks. There is a single disc for both pressure and vacuum. The pressure and vacuum settings available are low. Standard non-metallic seat inserts are made using Neoprene and Teflon material. This range of valves are available using pure aluminum, cast carbon steel, stainless steel and cast iron body with stainless steel or bronze trim. They can also be made from other materials on special order.

Fluidyne Model PV 1240 Vacuum Relief-Breather Valves are developed mainly for higher vacuum settings for storage vessels. FLUIDYNE Pilot Operated Breather Valves has two major advantages over standard dead weight and spring loaded types of breather and relief valves as given below:

It is leak and bubble tight up to set pressure.
It opens fully at 10% over pressure.

These special features of Fluidyne Pilot Operated Breather Valves permit operating pressures close to the maximum allowable working pressure of the tank or vessel. Higher operating pressures reduce evaporation losses thereby reducing production costs. Fluidyne Pilot Operated Breather Valves are manufactured in sizes 2” to 16” and set pressures up to 15 psi.

Flap valves are a type of safety valve used to prevent pressure build up in gas lines and furnaces. FLUIDYNE range of safety flap valves includes wall mounted vertical and horizontal flap valves suitable for pipe mounting and square duct mounting. FLUIDYNE safety flap valves can be manufactured to suit site specific installation requirements and operating water pressures. Technical Information
Where the flap valve is subjected to severe wave action, consideration should be given to shielding the valve to protect the seal. The valve should always be mounted above the shingle.

The Fluidyne Vacuum Breaker is mounted at critical pipeline’s high points, penstocks, or tanks and allows for rapid inflow of atmospheric air to reduce vacuum conditions in piping systems.Air Release Valve and Vacuum Breaker combination prevents vacuum and slows air release for the control of pressure surge. Vacuum protection is a must for water or liquid lines where there is a column separation due to air or gas entrapment where a vacuum breaker is used.
